Rainbao Dumplings Launches Colorful Asian Buns Filled with Plant-Based OmniPork

Rainbao Dumplings, a manufacturer of traditional Xiao Long Bao dumplings, is launching its range of brightly-colored buns filled with plant-based meat and seafood. The brand’s latest recipe, Golden Egg, features a plant-based chorizo made with leading Asian alt-protein brand OmniPork. Zrou Launches Seven New Products Created by Chinese Celebrity Chefs

Zrou, YouKuai Group’s plant-based protein brand, has launched a series of seven reheatable products created by five Chinese celebrity chefs; Jereme Leung, Dong Li, Chunfeng Lu, Hu Zhang and Anthony Zhao. Shanghai based Zrou says it is the the leading plant-based meat brand in China. The company raised $7.3 million in Series A last May when founder Franklin Yao compared his company to Tesla: “When Tesla first started 10 years ago, it didn’t try to target everybody with its cars. But its end goal was that every vehicle should be an electric car. Momentous Shift Imminent in China Where 90% Want Vegan Leather

A consumer study in China has indicated that there could be a seismic move away from animal leather, with 90% of customers stating they preferred leather alternatives. The Material Innovation Initiative (MII) study, done in collaboration with North Mountain Consulting Group, shows that ​​there could be wide acceptance of next-gen leather in urban Chinese markets once at scale, as almost all of those surveyed were open to purchasing leather alternatives. More than 70% of respondents explained that they sought out alternatives due to concerns about the environment, while 62% were concerned about animal welfare. Beyond Meat and Panda Express Present Veganized Version of Classic Orange Chicken Dish

As of July 26, American Chinese fast-food chain Panda Express will introduce a vegan version of its iconic orange chicken. The plant-based dish will be made in conjunction with Beyond Meat after the alt meat giant recently launched its Beyond Chicken Tenders into US food service. To be available firstly at test locations in greater Los Angeles and New York City, the new Beyond The Original Orange Chicken will be 100% vegan, and if commercially viable will be rolled out nationwide.
