Onami Foods, a French startup founded in May 2021 offering algae and plant-based products, has announced its launch in Carrefour hypermarkets in the Paris region. “Onami is taking to the sea! We are pleased to announce our deployment in Carrefour Île-de-France hypermarkets. Wagamama Launches Vegan Japanese-Inspired Fish and Chips for Veganuary

UK-based Asian fusion chain Wagamama has launched a new dish — plant-based Japanese-inspired fish and chips. The “fish” is made from battered soy, pea, and rice protein, in the style of the Japanese dish tempura. Accompanying the fish is roasted sweet potato and red onion, along with Japanese style mushy peas made with edamame beans and katsu curry sauce. Other garnishes include chilli, a lemon wedge, waga tartare with Japanese pickles, and Wagamama’s firecracker sauce. NORDSEE is a fast food chain specialising in seafood based in Germany and Austria with locations throughout Europe. Following the news as we reported last month that vegan seafood producer Novish closed a funding round including Kharis Capital, the owner of NORDSEE; the chain has now launched two menu items by the fast-growing Dutch producer.
