JOI Launches Organic Hemp Concentrate for Instant, Clean-Label Hemp Milk

US plant milk brand JOI announces it has launched Hemp Milk Concentrate – the company’s first vegan milk concentrate made from organic hemp hearts. Available exclusively in family-size, 8 lb pails, the Hemp Milk Concentrate can be used for cooking or blended with water for instant hemp milk.  To create the base, JOI says it used its proprietary concentrate process and applied it to hemp seeds. The concentrate contains just one ingredient – blanched hemp hearts – without the use of added sugars, gums or fillers. Compared with the leading boxed hemp milk brands, JOI says its concentrate contains two times more healthy fats and twice the protein (10 grams of protein per cup vs. 4.5 grams.) Gaia’s Farming Co. Raises £550K for Sustainable Hemp M*lk

UK hemp milk producer Gaia’s Farming Co. has raised £500,000 in seed funding. The raise follows a £200,000 pre-seed round last year. The investors in the round were not disclosed. Gaia says it will use the funding to “keep building and keep innovating in the hemp space”, with a particular emphasis on expanding its team. The company has also recently partnered with Pledge 1%, a global movement encouraging companies to donate a proportion of their staff time, product, and/or profit to a charity of their choice. Gaia will be pledging 1% of both its sales and its time.
