Demand for Celeriac Surges as Plant-Based Revolution Drives Culinary Experimentation
According to grower Jack Buck Farms, demand for celeriac is surging in the UK — and the plant-based food revolution may be a key driver. Celeriac is a root vegetable with a knobbly appearance and a celery-like flavour. Jack Buck Farms claims to be Europe’s largest celeriac grower, and says it is planting 50% more of the crop than in 2018 to cater to growing demand. The company began growing celeriac in 1986, and now plants 450 acres of the crop per year; this provides 90% of the UK’s celeriac.
