Copper Branch Restaurants Expand into the US

Plant-based restaurant chain Copper Branch continues to lead the ‘Food Revolution’ by expanding out of Canada and into Lower Manhattan. Based in Montreal, with 30 current locations across Canada, the firm has announced the opening of their first US location in New York City this November.

Copper Branch claim to be the largest plant-based restaurant chain in the world. The chain was first launched in 2014 by Rio Infantino, a former Subway franchise owner. Since then they have received worldwide recognition amongst vegans, flexitarians, and health conscious consumers.

Yesterday the Canadian firm announced the opening of 80 new locations in the US and across the globe by 2019 and a total of 150 by 2020. Mr Infantino, CEO of Copper Branch said: “New York City was a clear choice for our first U.S. location as it provides great visibility for the brand and is one of the world’s most recognized active and forward-thinking cities.”

The Copper Branch press release comments: “Plant-based eating is on the rise and plant-based innovations are changing the future of food as we know it. According to GlobalData, there has been a 600% increase in Americans who identify as vegans in the last three years and, per FoodNavigator-USA, 38% of all Americans eat meatless meals at least once a week. Adopting more of a plant-based diet has tremendous benefits, not only for our health; promoting weight loss and overall longevity of life, but for our planet as a whole as well.”

“We estimate that the vast majority of our customers simply want to eat real food that tastes great for a change! That is why serving great tasting, chef-inspired power foods is the key to our success. That is especially true in an area filled with top tier eateries like NYC,” adds Infantino.
