UK fast food brand Frankie & Benny’s today announces a massive menu shake-up focusing on new customer tastes and a “more grown up” audience. The Italian/American restaurant chain is introducing 26 new dishes that reflect the UK’s changing tastes and drinking habits, including seven vegan friendly options.
Frankie & Benny’s is owned by The Restaurant Group plc. and has over 250 locations across the UK. Of the new ‘grown-up’ dishes, seven are vegan (making a total of 22 vegan dishes on the menu following success of new vegan additions in January), and four are vegetarian.
The new vegan options include: Vegan Loaded Skins, Meatballs Al Forno, Cannelloni, Viva La Vegan Cheeseburger, Tortellini ‘Nduja, Capra (goats cheese salad), Italian Hot Pizza, Vegan Cheese Fries, Vegan No-Cheesecake, Lotus Biscoff (vegan), Toblerone Cheesecake, Tiramisu, breakfast pizza, Vegan Fry Up and Vegan scrambled eggs.
Frankie & Benny’s Head of Food Development, Holly Davies, said: “This spring we are really excited to be introducing the types of dishes that our customers have been asking for as they tell us that they want to see more of our Italian American heritage on the menu […] “In addition, following the great success of our extensive vegan range launched in January, we now look to focus in on the dishes that our guests have really loved, creating further ways for them to enjoy every aspect of our menu across every day; including our new breakfast vegan fry up and the launch of our incredibly indulgent vegan loaded fries and vegan cheesecake.
Customer research showed that customers wanted classic dishes but also vegan and vegetarian options reflecting the nations desire to embrace a more flexitarian diet.”
