JUST Egg Announces Walmart Launch and Millionth Unit Sold

JUST inc, makers of JUST Mayo, is focusing entirely on the hugely successful JUST Egg product, which is outperforming conventional eggs in some sectors, announcing that it has sold 1 million units of the vegan liquid egg, which is the equivalent of 10 million poultry eggs. The company also announces the rollout into Walmart stores this week.

CEO Josh Tetrick announced yesterday Thursday that the product, which is created from mung beans, will be sold in Walmart, the biggest retailer in the world with over 5000 stores.”I’m really proud to announce that we’re going to be bringing Just Egg to Walmart because, you know, it’s the biggest retailer in the world, so much more than a vegan thing.”

The plantbased egg was also launched into 2100 Kroger stores this month, making it a significantly visible product nationwide in the US. Tetrick revealed to Food Navigator that JUST Egg is now the company’s number one priority: “Right now, JUST Egg is the company, and the company is JUST Egg,” he said, adding that 95% of emails, conversations and meetings at JUST at present are concerning the egg product.

JUST Egg is a sustainable solution; one million equates to ten million conventional eggs, with three tablespoons proportional to one chicken egg whilst providing five grams of protein. It uses 98% less water, emits 93% less CO2, uses 86% less land,  requires 70 percent less surface and groundwater and has a 40 percent smaller carbon footprint.

“[The JUST Egg] is a good step to creating a more sustainable food system,” JUST co-founder and CEO Josh Tetrick told FOX Business.

To celebrate the milestone, JUST is offering a $1 coupon which can be redeemed here.
