Sainsbury’s Introduces Vegan Seafood Brand

Sophie’s Kitchen’s vegan shrimp and smoked salmon will be launching in the UK in Sainsbury’s stores in January 2019.

Sophie’s Kitchen creates gourmet vegan seafood and “is on the mission to make plant-based seafood accessible and delicious to everyone.” Their US range include crab cakes, fish fillet, shrimp, scallops, lobster, tuna and salmon, all of which are 100% plant-based, GMO-free, gluten-free, soy-free, low in calories and high in fibre. The plant-based seafood alternatives are made using konjac root, an ancient Asian superfood with high protein content.

Sophie’s Kitchen plant-based seafood will join the wide range of vegan products recently introduced in Sainsbury’s stores, including offerings from Naturli, Fry Family Foods, Vivera, and The Meatless Farm.
