French plant-based bakery Land&Monkeys has launched ‘le Parisien’, a vegan version of one of the most popular snacks in France: the ham-and-butter sandwich. To replace this bakery classic with ethical and sustainable alternatives, Land&Monkeys partnered with two food tech companies.  Zero pig, zero cow The zero pork ham is the latest development of the French startup La Vie. A special selection of oils, such as coconut and rapeseed oil, makes this possible.” Other premium ingredients, such as …

Jennifer Stewart of Belfast’s Bread and Banjo Bakery said that veganism “really isn’t that hard to cater for”, explaining that she had swapped milk and butter in some products for vegan alternatives. On Instagram, she described glazing some baked goods with oat milk instead of eggs to make them suitable for vegans. Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Stewart said, “I think veganism is becoming more popular and there are more and more vegan alternatives out there. It is the healthier …
