Hooked to Launch Plant-Based ‘Salmoonish’ and ‘Fish-ish Sticks’ in Sweden

Hooked Foods, a Swedish company that develops sustainable alternatives to seafood, announces that from October 3rd two new plant-based fish products — Salmoonish and Fish-ish sticks — will be available at major grocery stores in Sweden.  Hooked Foods also reveals that its Toonish range of products (until now only available at restaurants) will join its Toonish Tomat, which has been on supermarket shelves since 2021. Hooked was born in 2019 after Tom Johansson and Emil Wasteson were challenged to create a sustainable alternative to seafood, tasty and nutritious made with plants. Recently the company raised €10M for product development and market expansion. Dutch Tofu Pioneer SoFine to “Take Vegan Fish Sticks to the Next Level”

The new SoFish sticks that SoFine is set to launch into Rewe and Edeka in Germany have apparently been deemed as the tastiest in comparison with two other vegan alternatives in blind tests, with testers praising the taste and similarity to real fish, the crispy crust and the consistency. Multi market rollout Jessica Zomerdijk,  Commercial Director at SoFine, reveals: “After Germany, we expect to successfully launch the new SoFish sticks in the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland.” SoFish sticks are high in protein, contain omega 3 from flax oil, valuable fibre, and vitamins B2, B12, D, iron and zinc,  rewarded with a Nutriscore A grade. Schouten Launches Vegan Fish Sticks, Says Seaspiracy “Made a Big Impression” and Has Increased Demand
