MeliBio and Narayan Foods to Launch Vegan Honey at ALDI-Owned Hofer Stores Through Private Label Deal

MeliBio, a US-based producer of vegan honey, has partnered with organic food producer Narayan Foods to launch bee-free honey at ALDI-owned Hofer stores in Europe. The private-label deal will see the plant-based honey sold under the name Vegan Hanny as part of Hofer’s Just Veg! brand. The product will initially roll out in Austria and Switzerland from this month, before expanding into other European countries. The agreement between MeliBio and Narayan is valued at more than $10 million over four years. Future Farm to Launch Oat Milk in Brazil, Reveals Plans for Plant-Based Cheese and Honey

Brazil’s Future Farm, also known as Fazendo Futuro, says it will launch its first-ever plant-based milk, Future Oat, to Brazilian consumers starting in May. The company also revealed it plans to enter several new CPG categories, including plant-based honey, cheese and Brazilian-style meat snacks, reports Food Dive.   According to CEO Alexandre Ruberti, Future Oat will be available in chocolate, vanilla, barista, oat and cooking varieties. Plant-based ingredient manufacturer Fooditive has revealed it is working on bee-free honey. The company has found a way of copying the DNA of honey and using fermentation enzymes to create a product that exactly mimics the conventional variety.
