Sunday Supper: On a Mission to Redefine Frozen Food with Premium Plant-Based Lasagna

Belazu Launches Vegan ‘Nduja in the UK

Belazu, a UK-based producer of Mediterranean-style ingredients, has launched vegan ‘nduja — a meat-free alternative to the spicy Italian pork sausage spread. The ‘nduja is made with simple ingredients such as pepper paste, coconut oil, haricot beans, Calabrian chillis, and red wine vinegar. It was initially developed in collaboration with London and Oxford-based pizzeria Pizza Pilgrims. Zizzi Launches Three Vegan Italian Dishes at Tesco

UK-based restaurant chain Zizzi is to launch three of its best-loved vegan Italian dishes — Jackfruit Pepperoni Pizza, Rainbow Lasagne, and Praline Brownie — into Tesco supermarkets nationwide. Zizzi previously launched 13 dishes at Tesco earlier this year, however these are the first vegan product launches. Tesco customers can now purchase Zizzi’s award-winning Jackfruit Pepperoni Pizza, the first-ever vegan pepperoni pizza to be developed by a high-street restaurant chain. Shoppers can also try Zizzi’s chocolate brownie with hazelnut praline sauce, along with the chain’s colourful rainbow lasagne. The latter was originally intended as a limited-edition menu item, but proved so popular that it became a permanent fixture. White Rabbit Launches “Market First” Gluten-Free Vegan Calzone in the UK

UK-based Italian food brand White Rabbit has launched a gluten-free vegan calzone that it claims is a market first. The product is available at Sainsbury’s stores nationwide. The calzone features a gluten-free sourdough base filled with vegan mozzarella, Sicilian tomatoes, plant-based chicken strips, and vegan pesto. It retails at £5. Rapid growth White Rabbit recently reported 50% YOY growth, following several new product launches and listings at major supermarkets such as Morrisons and Co-op.
