Red Meat Giant ABP Expands Plant-Based Dopsu Range With Mince & Meatballs

Article amended 7/2: products are made with pea protein, not wheat. Irish meat producer ABP Group has added to its plant-based Dopsu range with two new products — No-Beef Balls and No-Beef Mince. The meat alternatives are made from pea protein and are now available at Asda stores in the UK. The launch is accompanied by a marketing campaign featuring TV personality Fred Sirieix, who is a Dopsu brand ambassador. “Dopsu’s range cooks and tastes just like meat, so people can create their favourite meals without compromising on a meat lovers’ experience. Amazon Fresh Debuts 15 New Plant-Based Meat and Dairy Products

Amazon Fresh, a grocery pickup and delivery service, is launching its own plant-based range featuring over a dozen vegan meat and dairy items.  The Fresh Plant-Based brand is an expansion of Amazon’s Fresh private label, and includes Italian meatballs, chick’n nuggets, meatless patties, sausage and almond milks, reports Store Brands.  According to Amazon, the new products were thoroughly tested to ensure they meet customers’ expectations for taste and quality, and all offer healthy nutritional benefits. The brand’s almond milks contain 50% more calcium than dairy milk, while its plant-based chik’n nuggets, meatballs and patties provide 12, 17 and 21 grams of protein per serving, respectively.  Increasing product demand Amazon Fresh is a service that allows customers to order groceries using the Amazon app or website. …

Pret a Manger Launches Vegan Meatball Wrap in the US

British sandwich shop chain Pret a Manger launches vegan meatball wrap across its 42 US stores. Last January, Pret a Manger UK swapped the conventional meatballs in its Swedish Meatball Hot Wrap for a vegan alternative made by Meatless Farm. The wrap was a huge success, becoming the first new product in the chain’s history to become a top-five bestseller in launch week. Following this success, the plant-based wrap permanently replaced the conventional option in the UK. Now, the wrap is coming to the US too. IKEA Launches “Plant Ball” in Canada as Part of Plan to be 50% Plant-Based by 2025
