Kaiser Launches Oat-Based Frozen Desserts in Quebec, Plans National Rollout

Kaiser, a new brand specializing in frozen oat-based desserts, has launched across select retailers in Quebec. The brand was developed by Nathan Kaiser, a Canadian farmer with extensive experience in small-batch oat production. Kaiser’s products cater to the increasing demand for oat-based alternatives in the dessert market, offering a range of vegan and gluten-free options, with a nationwide rollout planned by 2025. The range includes family-sized tubs and chocolate-dipped bars, with flavors such as Salted Caramel, Mint Chip, and Cookies & Cream. All the offerings are vegan, the majority of which are also gluten-free. These desserts are currently available at retailers, including Maxi, Magasin Pasquier, and Les 5 Saisons in Quebec. Malibu and Oatly Partner to Launch Vegan Piña Colada-Flavoured Soft-Serve

Malibu, a brand of white rum-based coconut liqueur, has partnered with Oatly to launch a dairy-free, piña colada-flavoured soft-serve with a touch of alcohol. The Piña Oatlada is expected to have particular appeal for Gen Z, who are said to be searching for plant-based alternatives, lower-alcohol products, and new flavours. The oat-based soft serve contains just 1.5% ABV (alcohol by volume) and is vegan-friendly. Oatly and Malibu will celebrate the launch by opening a pop-up bar called Paradise Arches in Shoreditch, London. From July 12 to August 2, the bar will serve light bites and cocktails inspired by the two brands. Albertsons Adds 12 Plant-Based Products, Including Dairy-Free Cheese and Oat Ice Cream, to Open Nature Brand

American grocery chain Albertsons announces it is expanding its private label Open Nature brand with 12 new plant-based products, ranging from shredded cheese and yogurt to oat and almond ice cream. The new offerings join Open Nature’s existing selection of plant-based foods, and are now available at Albertsons supermarkets and its banner stores, including Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco and ACME.  According to Albertsons, Open Nature provides shoppers with tasty foods made with thoughtfully chosen ingredients that don’t contain unnecessary additives.
