Clive’s Pies Announces it Has “Gone Vegan For Good”
Clive’s, the much-loved British pie-maker, announces that its previously vegetarian range is now entirely plant-based. The news follows the deal with supermarket giant Morrison’s to supply vegan pies to 350 of their stores across the country, and its success in Waitrose, Holland & Barrett, Ocado and Abel & Cole.
Australian Meat Pie Brand Four’N’Twenty Launches Plant-Based Pie to “Stay Current”
Patties Food Group has announced it will introduce a plant-based Four’N Twenty pie to service stations, supermarkets and football grounds in Australia this March. The meat-free pie will be made mainly from soy protein using the same pastry and seasoning so as to resemble the original meat version.
Vegan Pie Crowned Supreme Champion for First Time at Industry Awards
The ‘British Pie Awards’ winner of 2019 is a vegan entry from butcher Jon Thorner, Somerset South England. The competition has been running for 11 years, and the curried sweet potato and butternut squash pie is the first of its kind to win the award. Almost 900 meat pies were entered from 176 producers.
