Finnish air protein Solar Foods announces the official launch of its highly anticipated Factory 01 in Vantaa, Finland. MycoTechnology Launches FaaS Platform to Address Commercial Scale Challenges in Bioproducts

US mycelial fermentation company MycoTechnology announces the launch of a Fermentation as a Service (FaaS) platform to help other companies produce bioproducts at a commercial scale, including proteins, enzymes, and probiotics.  “Fermentation is a critical process that underpins the production of a wide array of bioproducts,” says Ranjan Patnaik, CTO at MycoTechnology.   The new platform offers fermentation capacity services from 300 to 90,000 L. In addition, it provides companies with essential tools and expertise to address commercial production challenges such as product quality, yield, and cost management.  Furthermore, the FaaS platform complies with FDA 21 CFR Part 117 guidelines and holds a GFSI audit certification from BRCGS, guaranteeing a “robust and reliable facility for fermentation services,” explains the company. LiDestri Foods and Fermentum Establish “First” Commercial Scale Precision Fermentation Plant in the US

LiDestri Foods and Drinks, the largest private label and food contract manufacturer in the US, and Fermentum, a leading fermentation capacity expert, have announced a joint venture to solve the bottleneck for precision fermentation capacity and support the growth of industrial biotechnology in the country. CellX Secures $6.5M to Launch China’s First Cultivated Meat Pilot Facility & Tasting Space

Chinese biotechnology company CellX announces it has secured $6.5 million in Series A+ funding led by various investors to complete its pilot-scale facility and begin producing cultivated meat products.  In February, the cell ag company announced plans to build China’s first pilot facility in partnership with Tofflon, a biotech and food equipment company. Netherlands-based Ojah has announced that it will significantly expand its production facilities, as demand for the company’s meat alternatives continues to rise. The expansion will almost double production capacity, with manufacturing set to take place around the clock. Ojah is also said to be investigating ways to expand globally.
