Sustainability platform abillion has published a list of the world’s top 50 vegan restaurants based on member reviews of over 265,000 dishes across 70 countries. The top ten are: Rifugio Romano (Rome, Italy) — A restaurant offering vegan versions of traditional Italian food. The menu includes dishes such as carbonara, cannelloni, bruschetta, tiramisu, and more. Grumpy & Runt (Cape Town, South Africa) — A vegan deli and bakery specializing in handmade donuts, with a new selection of flavors each week. Bristol’s Thriving Plant-Based Scene Expands With New Vegan Hotspots

As another plant-based restaurant arrives in Bristol — often said to be the vegan capital of the UK — we take a look at some of the eateries that have opened their doors in the city over the past year. VeBurger The newest addition to Bristol’s vegan restaurant scene is VeBurger, a plant-based burger joint that is set to open in Wapping Wharf. The location will offer some of the cheapest vegan burgers in the city, with prices starting at just £2.99. VeBurger launched last year as a delivery service and was so successful that it soon began searching for a storefront. Mallow to Open Second “Seasonal & Sustainable” Plant-Based Restaurant in London

Plant-based restaurant Mallow is set to open a second location in London’s Canary Wharf district, two years after its first restaurant arrived in the UK capital. Located at the new Wood Wharf development, the restaurant will seat 100 customers indoors across two floors, plus a further 50 on an outdoor terrace. The menu will include dishes such as spinach dahi puri with lime, coconut sambol and blackcurrant tamarind chutney, and aubergine muhammara borek with green tabouleh, smoked aubergine cream, and ezme. Mallow says it serves “seasonal, sustainable food, inspired by cuisines from all over the world”. PBFA’s ‘State of Food Service’ Report Finds 62% Growth of Plant-Based Food in US Restaurants

The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) and Datassential have released a new report, The State of Plant-Based in Food Service, which demontrates the “explosive” growth of plant-based foods on US restaurant menus.  Among many key highlights, the report found plant-based alternatives have increased by 62% in the last 10 years, with nearly half, or 48%, of US restaurants now offering plant-based food options. In addition, more food service operators plan to increase their plant-based meat options in 2023, while 60% believe that plant-based alternatives are a long-term trend.  According to PBFA, the new report serves as a baseline for understanding how plant-based foods are performing across food service menus to help inform future growth.
