Dave’s Killer Bread® (DKB) brings its whole grain and protein-rich ingredients to the grill with the launch of organic burger buns. DKB’s newest product is now available nationwide.
“Consumers are hungry for organic buns, which make up less than one percent of the category, despite significant increases in demand for organic meat and plant-based alternatives,” said Cristina Watson, DKB brand manager. “We wanted to give people a bun packed with the flavor and nutrition they expect from DKB, that will elevate anything they pile on it. They deserve a great organic bun.”
Building on its bestselling loaf, 21 Whole Grains and Seeds, and fan-favorite, White Bread Done Right, the new buns include:
- 21 Whole Grains and Seeds: DKB’s organic 21 Whole Grains and Seeds Buns feature a hearty texture, subtle sweetness, and the brand’s signature 21 whole grains and seeds blend. The bun includes 12 grams of whole grains and 6 grams of protein per serving.
- Burger Buns Done Right™: DKB’s take on the classic artisan-style bun, organic Burger Buns Done Right boast 8 grams of whole grains and 6 grams of protein per serving, with no bleached flour or high fructose corn syrup.
Just like DKB’s other nationally available products – its nine breads, four bagels, and two English muffins – the bun varieties are Certified USDA Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified. Except for its Honey Oats & Flax bread, which contains honey, all other DKB products are animal product-free and vegan-friendly. The eight-bun packs retail for $5.99.

Dave’s Killer Bread® was introduced at Oregan’s Portland Farmers Market in 2005 and is now the nation’s best-selling organic bread brand* with a widespread distribution across the US and Canada. The flagship organic bread brand for Flowers Foods, DKB pioneered the organic seeded bread category and offers 22 varieties of whole-grain organic bakery products. In addition, Dave’s Killer Bread® is committed to Second Chance Employment, a program that employs those with a criminal background. One in three employee-partners at its Oregon bakery has a criminal background. DKB has transformed lives through job opportunities and Dave’s Killer Bread Foundation inspires other businesses to become Second Chance Employers.
