The Australian supermarket chain Woolworth has reported a significant increase in vegan food sales. All indicators suggest that the market will continue to grow.

Woolworth has been consistently expanding its vegan food range over the past year, for example by introducing vegan cheese and tofurky. There is still no end to this trend in sight. The company says, “All indicators show that this product category will continue to grow. We will continue to focus on offering a vegan selection that is high quality, convenient and affordable”.

Last year alone, the category recorded a growth rate of more than ten percent. The total Australian market for vegan products is expected to exceed 200 million dollars by 2020. According to the market report, more and more fast-food chains such as Domino’s, Hog’s Breath Café and San Churro are responding to this Australian trend with vegan menu additions, as are supermarket chains.
