Sunshine Coast-based company COYO has launched a new dairy-free yoghurt in Australia, combining oat and coconut milk for the first time in the local market. The new product will be available nationwide at Woolworths and Independant stores from March 2025.
“This yoghurt aligns with our commitment to making better products for people and the planet”
COYO’s Dairy-Free Oat & Coconut Yoghurt is made with 74% oat milk and 17% coconut cream, crafted to deliver a balance of creamy texture and nutritional value. The product is designed to appeal to health-conscious consumers, featuring live cultures that support gut health. It is also free from artificial additives, flavours, or preservatives, and is produced using sustainably sourced coconut and Australian-grown oats.
COYO has been a pioneer in the dairy-free space, having previously introduced the “world’s first” dairy-free coconut yoghurt. According to Sandra Gosling, co-founder of COYO, the new Oat & Coconut Yoghurt responds to the increasing number of Australians reducing their dairy consumption. “Our Oat & Coconut Yoghurt is light, creamy, and packed with the nutritional benefits that consumers are seeking in today’s busy lifestyles,” she stated.

Recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveals that over 40% of Australians are actively cutting back on dairy products, with demand for plant-based alternatives increasing by 20% annually. COYO’s new offering has been crafted to meet this demand, catering to both plant-based dieters and anyone seeking a wholesome, non-dairy option.
Sustainability & local production
COYO’s Oat & Coconut Yoghurt is produced in the company’s Sunshine Coast facility, continuing its tradition of being family-owned and Australian-made. The brand has been producing dairy-free yoghurt for over 13 years, with a focus on sustainable and functional plant-based foods that promote both individual and environmental health.
The new yoghurt, which comes in Natural, Vanilla Bean, Mango and Strawberry flavours, joins COYO’s existing range of plant-based dairy alternatives, further strengthening the company’s position in the growing Australian plant-based market.
Henry Gosling, cofounder of COYO, noted, “Our aim is to create a product that everyone can enjoy, whether they are dairy-free, plant-based, or just looking for something new. This yoghurt aligns with our commitment to making better products for people and the planet.”
