Former Alpro Sales Director Launches POTINA Banana Oat Drinks for Kids

Entrepreneur Adam Womersley, a former Sales Director at Alpro UK&I, has developed a new range of plant-based banana oat drinks for children.

Called POTINA, the clean-label drinks are free of added sugars, sweeteners, oils, and additives. They combine oats with organic bananas to provide energy and natural sweetness. Each 200ml serving includes 4g of fibre, supporting gut health.

POTINA is available in two varieties — Banana Oat and Banana Cocoa Oat. Womersley says he was inspired to develop the drinks by his professional background and experiences as a father.

“I’ve always been passionate about healthy eating,” he said. “After years working with top food brands and the NHS, I saw firsthand how good nutrition can change lives. Our goal with POTINA is to make nutritious, planet-friendly drinks kids love, so that parents have a healthy choice they can feel good about.”

He added, “Parents struggle to steer clear of added sugars, additives, and empty calories when choosing drinks for their children. As parents, we want better choices that offer both nutrition and taste without compromise.”

“Small, simple swaps”

Despite the wide array of plant-based milk alternatives available in the UK, there are still relatively few aimed at children. Some notable exceptions are Alpro’s Growing Up Drink (available in soy and oat varieties) and Koko’s coconut-based Kids Milk. Another is Scotland-based Three Robins, which offers oat-based smoothies and milk alternatives for children and growing families.

“We want to make it super easy for families to make small, simple swaps towards a plant-forward diet,” said Womersley. “As a dad of two young children, I appreciate firsthand how much families want easy, nutritious options that support their kids’ health. We’re proud to lead the charge on healthier alternatives for families. Our mission is to make getting enough fibre easy, fun, and fuss-free!”

POTINA is now available at Tesco stores UK-wide, and can be found in the Baby & Toddler aisle.
