ACI Group, a global supplier of functional ingredients, has announced that it is expanding its plant-based protein line in response to increasing demand.
The company is introducing a new range of pea, soy, and wheat proteins, along with a plant-based protein concentrate blend. The ingredients have been designed to meet goals such as taste, texture, protein claims, shelf life, and overall product appearance; they provide solutions for a range of applications, including meat alternatives, protein bars, and more.
The range includes:
- Isolated pea protein — Contains 83% protein and can be used in beverages, desserts, and baked goods.
- Yellow pea and chickpea protein powders — Contain 50% and 38% protein respectively, providing options for moderate protein formulations.
- Pea protein nuggets — Available in three shapes with 55% or 70% protein. They are said to be ideal for protein bars and confectionery traybakes.
- Texturised pea protein flakes — Contain 74.6% protein and are suitable for use in meat alternatives.
- Isolated soy protein — Contains 90% protein and can be used to enhance the texture and protein content of bars, drinks, cakes, and brownies.

- Soy protein nuggets — Available in various shapes and protein levels from 60% to 90%, including cocoa-infused options. The nuggets are suitable for traybakes, cereals, and protein bars.
- Texturised wheat flakes — Designed for meat alternatives and available with 76.8% or 65.6% protein.
- Wheat protein crispies — Contain 65.7% protein and can be used in cereal inclusions or confectionery sprinkles.
- Plant-based protein concentrate blend — Made with fava bean, yellow pea, sunflower, and wheat proteins, this blend can be used to enhance the protein content of bakery products like flatbreads, sub rolls, muffins, baguettes, and cakes.
