Improved Nature Collects $3 Million in Financial Capital

Improved Nature is a vegan company based in North Carolina, USA, which produces plant-based meat substitutes and distributes them via its food service. In order to expand its management team and strengthen its marketing activities, the company has recently raised more than three million US dollars. The new financing round was led by investment specialist Concentric Capital.

With its proprietary process for producing plant-based meat products, the company aims to offer its customers better and more sustainable meat alternatives. These include products such as pork-free schnitzel, beef-free country fried steak and plant-based BBQ chicken-free wings. The meat substitute is soy-based and distributed via food service networks. David Swintosky, CFO of Improved Nature, told AgFunderNews, “The company was founded to bring simple plant-based protein products to the commercial market to meet the global demand for plant-based proteins. The company’s products are shelf-stable, single-component protein concentrate products which are boiled in water and are similar to animal proteins in bite, texture and flavor.”

The financing round will allow the company to grow, expand its management team and hire more employees. Sales and marketing will also be expanded. Other vegan companies that have started financing rounds include the delivery services Allplants and Simple Feast.
