Beyond Meat Premieres Documentary “PLANTING CHANGE” on YouTube

Today, Beyond Meat has launched its first documentary-style short film, PLANTING CHANGE. Narrated by the company’s founder and CEO, Ethan Brown, the film explores the intersection of health, sustainability, and plant-based nutrition, emphasizing the shift from animal-based to plant-based food systems.

The documentary presents a range of perspectives, featuring interviews with medical professionals, climate advocates, historians, and farmers who are transitioning to growing pulses for plant-based foods. These farmers, many of whom have been in agriculture for multiple generations, are presented as key players in reshaping the future of food production, providing an alternative to the traditional, animal-based agricultural system.

Challenging entrenched systems

PLANTING CHANGE examines the broader impacts of dietary choices, addressing both the environmental and health benefits of incorporating more plant-based foods. The film also looks at Beyond Meat’s role in challenging established food industries and the complexities of competing against entrenched systems.

Available now on YouTube, the documentary is timed to coincide with Earth Month, aligning with the company’s message of promoting sustainable and healthier food options. In a statement announcing the documentary, Beyond Meat states, “What if the key to healing our bodies and the Earth was right at the center of our plates?”
