Juicy Marbles Expands Meaty Meat Line With Whole Cut Plant-Based Pork

Plant-based food company Juicy Marbles has introduced another product to it’s Meaty Meat line. According to the company, “Pork-ish,” a 6.4-ounce whole cut of plant-based pork, is the first-ever whole cut of pork in the plant-based meat category. The product is priced 26% lower per ounce compared to the brand’s previous offerings, adding another affordable choice to the growing plant-based meat market.

“If we want plant-based meats to be a viable alternative, they have to get close to matching the nutritional profile of meat”

The product became available last week on Juicy Marbles’ website. This release follows the successful debut of Meaty Meat’s first flavor, “Lamb-ish,” which sold out within 24 hours in the United States when it was launched last month. The company has built its reputation on creating unique plant-based products, like the “world’s first” marbled plant-based steak, tenderloin, and ribs with bones.

“Pork-ish” is designed to be adaptable in various culinary applications, allowing cooks to experiment with plant-based versions of pork-based recipes. It provides a meat-like texture that can be sliced, chunked, shredded, or cooked whole, and has been built using Juicy Marbles’ clean-label recipe, Marble 3.0.

Creating viable alternatives

The goal with Marble 3.0, co-founder Maj Hrovat explains, is to provide a plant-based alternative that not only tastes and feels like meat but also offers the nutritional benefits people expect from traditional meat. “If we want plant-based meats to be a viable alternative, they have to get close to matching the nutritional profile of meat. People want foods they can cook for their families with confidence, knowing that they’re getting the nutrients they need,” he said.

The new “Pork-ish” product is currently available for purchase online in the United States and Canada through Juicy Marbles’ official website and its partner Vegan Supply, respectively. Retail availability in the UK and the EU is expected at a later date, though a specific timeline has not been confirmed.

As co-founder Luka Sinček notes, “By focusing only on what people love most about Marbles—meaty texture and flavor, and nothing else—we hope we can give people permission to experiment with whole cuts in all kinds of recipes.”
