Barilla’s First-Ever Vegan Pesto to Hit Kroger Shelves This Fall

Barilla, the “world’s largest pasta manufacturer”, is launching its first-ever vegan pesto, expanding its lineup of sauces. This new plant-based option will be available exclusively at Kroger stores beginning this month, with broader distribution expected at major retailers in 2025. The new pesto variety has been designed to cater to both vegan consumers and those with lactose intolerance, offering an alternative without the inclusion of dairy ingredients. Fillipo Berio’s Tofu-Based Vegan Pestos Arrive in the USA

Filippo Berio, a 155-year-old Italian producer of olive oil and pesto, introduces two vegan pestos to the US market, following a successful UK launch which took place this July. The pestos, which are both plant-based and gluten-free, debut in Basil and Sundried Tomato flavors and feature tofu as a cheese replacement. Additionally, the products are certified by The Vegan Society, allowing for greater consumer confidence. The brand’s product portfolio is available in over 75 countries. Filippo Berio Introduces Two Vegan Pestos Made With Tofu

Italian olive oil brand Filippo Berio has launched two new vegan pestos in the UK. The new products are available in Basil and Sundried Tomato flavours. The products are plant-based versions of Filippo Berio’s existing Classic and Sundried Tomato pestos, made by replacing cheese with tofu. Like the originals, they are made with the brand’s olive oil. Responding to market change Filippo Berio is a major player in the global olive oil industry, available in 65 countries worldwide.
