Food manufacturer Don Lee Farms has announced plans to expand its popular plant-based burgers around the world, targeting 15 different countries. The veggie burgers will soon be available in the frozen section of supermarkets.
Don Lee Farms’ burgers are made from organic plant-based ingredients and are said to sizzle and taste just like beef. The burgers are organic, vegan, gluten-free and an excellent source of plant-based protein. Don Lee Farms products have already been certified by the USDA.
Donald Goodman, President of Don Lee Farms, said: “We are excited to introduce these organic burgers to a global audience for the first time. Our goal is to make our organic plant-based burger available to as many people as possible.” Global target markets include countries in Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
Goodman added, “Other brands talk about sustainability, but at the same time, all use artificial ingredients which are banned in some countries outside the US. We are proud to be able to offer a truly sustainable solution.” Danny Goodman, Product Developer at Don Lee Farms, said: “We offer an alternative that is supported by the USDA Organic Certification Program. Remarkably, our burger is the only successful plant-based burger which is free from ingredients not found in nature.”
The family-owned, California-based food company was also recently recognized by Women’s Health as one of the best veggie burger brands.
