This month Target launched 14 zero-waste beauty products, created by lifestyle brand Ethique, at 50 select locations that include New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina and online at target.com.
The brand’s debut products include shampoo, facial scrub, and body wash bars. French for “ethical,” all Ethique products are vegan, cruelty-free, certified organic and are naturally sourced from coconut oil, cocoa butter, and essential oils and wrapped in compostable packaging.
According to VegNews, Ethique began making waste-free beauty bars in 2012 as an alternative to the 80 billion plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles that end up in landfills globally each year. Since then, Ethique has grown to include more than 40 products and is sold throughout the US, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and shipped worldwide.
