Mooala, one of the fastest-growing plant-based milk brands in the US, has unveiled its new Organic Barista Blend Oatmilk. The product, designed to steam and froth more effectively than many leading alternatives, is now available on Amazon and in select Whole Foods Market stores.
“We spent years crafting an organic version without the scary stuff”
Packaged in 32-oz cartons, the Barista Blend was developed with input from top baristas to create a rich and velvety foam suitable for both professional and home use. According to Mooala, all their plant-based milks are USDA-certified organic, ensuring they are free from GMOs, herbicides, preservatives, and toxic chemicals.
The new blend provides the high performance and creaminess of oat milk without the chemical additives commonly found in mainstream barista oat milk.
Jeff Richards, CEO of Mooala, explained the company’s approach: “Barista oatmilks try to mimic how dairy milk froths and steams. To accomplish this, most brands use low-grade oils and chemicals to achieve the desired performance.”
Mooala’s Organic Barista Blend is made with organic oats and expeller-pressed organic sunflower oil, which is high-oleic and not chemically treated. The product contains 90 calories and 5 grams of sugar per serving, offering a health-conscious option for consumers looking to avoid exposure to herbicides such as glyphosate, which has been linked to cancer.
Meeting market demand
In response to consumer demand for simpler products, Mooala recently launched three-ingredient shelf-stable versions of its oat and almond milk, which earned top honors in Eat This, Not That’s ranking of the healthiest dairy-free milks in 2023. The company also debuted single-serve organic bananamilks in vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate flavors earlier this year.
Richards continued, “We spent years crafting an organic version without the scary stuff. Now baristas and at-home consumers don’t have to choose between ingredient quality and exceptional performance.”
