Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell Set to Open Vegan Italian Eatery, Argento, in LA

In a collaboration with plant-based restaurateur Nic Adler, global pop star Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell are set to debut Argento, a vegan Italian restaurant in the heart of Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Scheduled to open its doors next month, Argento takes over the space once occupied by Little Pine, a vegan eatery established in 2015 by vegan musician Moby. Adler, known for expanding the local plant-based scene in LA with establishments like Monty’s Good Burgers and Nic’s On Beverly, aims to infuse Argento with a neighborhood restaurant ambiance. Luxury fashion house Gucci announces the launch of its latest iteration of the iconic Horsebit 1955 bag, this time crafted in Demetra, an animal-free alternative material that Gucci has developed in-house. Developed over two years by Gucci’s team of technicians and artisans, Demetra is composed of 75% plant-derived raw materials, including bio-based polyurethane made from non-GMO wheat and corn, plant-based viscose, and wood pulp. This marks the first time that Gucci has used the Demetra material to recreate one of its bags, and the launch is accompanied by a campaign featuring musician Billie Eilish. Celebrity-endorsed fairtrade chocolate brand iChoc is launching a Veganuary campaign across Germany. For a fortnight starting at the end of January, the products will be placed next to the classic confectionery shelf at the drugstore chain dm across the country. Several wholefood shops are also set to join the campaign. Over 3,000 bars of the popular iChoc White Nougat Crisp variety are in the Food-Darlings boxes which will be available exclusively in the dm online shop from 9 January. Germany’s iChoc became one of the first 100% plant-based chocolate brands way back in 2015 before mainstream chocolate brands jumped on the vegan bandwagon. Seven years later, the brand announces a Fairtrade upgrade, improved recipes and a new design. In September, the new iChoc goes on sale containing certified Fairtrade cocoa with climate-friendly regional beet sugar instead of cane sugar from Brazil. Impossible Foods has announced a partnership with Billie Eilish’s Overheated show at the 02 Arena, with the venue declaring that no animal products will be served at the arena for the full six day duration of the event Overheated takes place June 10-12, 16, and 25-26 as a collaboration between the singer-songwriter and the intersectional nonprofit organisation Support + Feed, which was founded by Eilish’s mother Maggie Baird. Billie Eilish and Nike Collaborate for Sustainable Vegan Shoes & Apparel

Billie Eilish and Nike have joined forces to create a new range of vegan shoes and clothing, with the singer-songwriter redesigning Nike’s iconic Air Force 1 to use more sustainable materials. The new shoe uses synthetic nubuck leather in a mushroom colour, made with 80% recycled materials. The laces are covered with midfoot straps and have lace locks featuring Eilish’s logo, while the shoes’ insoles are made with cork and embossed with lyrics from her song Billie Bossa Nova. Eilish has also helped to design a range of matching mushroom-coloured apparel in her signature oversized style, featuring a hoodie, sweatpants, and t-shirt. Wicked Kitchen and Support + Feed are joining the Billie Eilish 2022 world tour to promote THE PLEDGE; a 30-day commitment to eating more plant-based meals.
