One Planet Pizza’s “Category First” Plant-Based Tex Mex Launches at Asda
UK brand One Planet Pizza has announced that its plant-based Tex Mex, claimed to be a frozen category first, is launching at Asda stores across the country. The pizza features a wood-fired sourdough base with tomato sauce and plant-based cheese made from white beans. It is topped with marinated vegetables, sweetcorn, and jalapeños. The launch comes after One Planet Pizza showed strong performance at Asda, reportedly seeing 41% year-on-year volume growth. The brand’s Spicy Peppernomi pizza became permanently available at the retailer in 2023, following a successful trial as part of Asda’s incubator program for new brands. “Outrageously tasty” One Planet Pizza now hopes to become Asda’s top vegan pizza brand.
